13 Activities To Do Before Fall Semester Kicks Off
Summer is sadly coming to an end, which means, as a college student, you will have limited spare time for fun activities. It also means winter will be here before we know it and we will not be able to enjoy the outdoors like we can now.
So before your schedule gets incredibly hectic and stressful from classes, homework and papers, here are 13 things to enjoy.
1. Trampoline park
Grab a few friends and go be a kid again at a trampoline park. On those extra hot days where it is just unbearable to be outdoors, be active indoors. You and your friends will definitely get a workout, of course, while having fun jumping from all the different trampolines, playing trampoline basketball, and diving into the foam pit.
2. Sleepover
When you are away at college, it’s probably not too often you get to hang out with your friends from home. Summer break is the perfect time to spend with your friends at home, so why not have a sleepover? You can catch up, watch movies and just enjoy each other’s company.
3. Beach/pool day
It is summer, so enjoy the warm weather and get that tan that you have been dreaming about. Take family or friends to a nearby beach or a community or friend’s pool. You can have fun in the water, get a tan, relax and make memories with your loved ones! This is an activity that you won’t have time or the weather for once the upcoming semester is in full swing.
4. Family get-together
Just like your friends from home, you most likely do not get to see your whole family too often when you are away at college as well. Take the time during this summer to plan a family get-together. Invite all your immediate family and distant family as well. You can come together for dinner or even a picnic at a local park. This is an event your family will appreciate and you will be making memories you will cherish for a lifetime.
5. Read
Basically every college student has a bunch of reading for each course during the semester, which normally does not motivate students to read a book for pleasure. In the summer, you most likely do not have reading assigned to you, which makes it the perfect time to read that book you always wanted to enjoy.
6. Road trip
A vacation or road trip is what summers are for before you give up your summers and commit to a career. Taking a trip with friends gives you the opportunity to have fun and learn about other areas of the country or world.
7. Dog park trip
If you own a dog, spend a day with them, other than sitting inside, and take them to a dog park. You’ll get to enjoy the weather, meet other people and have your dog’s tail wagging for days. This is an activity that you won’t be able to do when you are at college, so take advantage of it while you can this summer.
8. Bonfire party
As the wise band Rascal Flatts once said: “Those summer nights!”
Having a bonfire with a bunch of friends one night this summer will be so much fun. Roasting marshmallows, making s’mores, and hanging with all your friends will be a night you’ll definitely remember.
9. Concert or baseball game
Go for a night out and have fun at a concert coming to your town or a local baseball game. This is another activity you probably won’t have a lot of spare time for during the busy semester. You can have fun with friends while seeing your favorite artist perform or team play.
10. Binge-watch a series
If you have ever tried to binge-watch a series on Netflix during the semester, you possibly failed one or more of your classes. Binge watching can seriously take over your life, which during the summer can be a good thing. So if you haven’t got on the Grey’s Anatomy or Orange Is The New Black bandwagon, then grab a seat on the couch and get watching this summer.
11. Water/amusement park
If you have some money to spare on a day of fun, go to a water park or amusement park with family and/or friends. From sliding down huge slides, chilling in the lazy river, and having your stomach drop from endless rollercoasters, you and your friends are bound to have one of the best days you’ve had all summer.
12. Yard sale
If you have a messy room, try taking the time and cleaning it out this summer. With all of the items and clothes you don’t need or use anymore you can have a yard sale and make some extra spending money for the summer. You’ll have a clean and organized room and money in your pocket.
13. Zoo
If you have younger siblings or just you and some friends want to see exotic animals, take a trip to your local zoo this summer.
